Clinical Buccal Therapy

Clinical Buccal Therapy is a specialist treatment that works inside the mouth and around the face to help ease tension in the jaw and facial muscles.

All treatments are provided by our dental professionals registered with the General Dental Council (GDC). Known as Buccalists™, they specialise in Clinical Buccal Therapy.

Using careful, hands-on techniques, they work on muscles involved in chewing and jaw movement, including those that can be difficult to reach from outside the mouth.

Treatment may help people experiencing:

  • Jaw tension or discomfort

  • Teeth clenching or grinding, also known as bruxism

  • Tight or tense facial muscles

  • Discomfort around the jaw joint, known as the temporomandibular joint (TMJ)

  • Difficulty or discomfort when moving the jaw

  • Headaches linked to muscle tension

By working both inside and outside the mouth, treatment aims to relax tense muscles, ease discomfort and help your jaw move more comfortably.

If jaw tension, clenching or facial discomfort affects your day-to-day life, speak to our team to find out whether Clinical Buccal Therapy could be suitable for you.
